Warm Nights & Weekend Events
First, let me start by giving a huge THANK YOU to Mary Anne Montague and Jan Braswell for running the Sacred Heart Warm Nights program for over 20 years – Incredible display of service to others.
Due to COVID-19, Sacred Heart will not be hosting guests for Warm Nights; however, we have committed to providing lunches, assorted supplies and financial support to the guests for the week of February 21-28. We are looking for 5 volunteers each day (total of 7 days) to make 20 lunches. We also welcome financial donations which can be made through Faith Direct or by check/cash. Checks should be made payable to Sacred Heart with Warm Nights noted in the memo field and can be dropped off in the collection boxes or at the parish office. In addition, we are looking for an assortment of items to be dropped off in front of the Church on Saturday, February 20, from 8:00-9:30 a.m. Items needed are cleaning supplies, feminine products, shower gel, toothpaste, socks, men and women’s underwear, towels, wash cloths, queen-size sheets, and laundry baskets. Please contact Brendan Gaeng at 410-980-3975 or
for more information and to volunteer to make lunches.
As a reminder, this weekend, on Saturday, February 13, you are invited to a morning of Lenten Reflections from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. in the Church. Then on Sunday, February 14, everyone is invited to a St. Valentine’s family fun day from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Church parking lot. There will be a “trunk & treat” valentine exchange. If you have any questions, contact Sam Fatzinger at 301-832-2216.
On Monday, February 15, in observance of the Presidents Day holiday, there will be only one daily Mass at 8:00 a.m. in the Church. Parish and CCD Offices will be closed.
If you have palms left over from years past, bring them to Mass this weekend (February 13/14) and place them in the baskets in the baptistry area of the Church. The palms will be burned for Ash Wednesday ashes.
Stay tuned next week for a Flocknote on upcoming Lenten Activities at Sacred Heart.
